Shidoni Installation
In April 2004 I spent about 10 days in Santa Fe, New Mexico ...not exactly a vacation but a huge opportunity. I was asked to place 5 large sculptures on the grounds of the world renowned Shidoni Art Foundry & Galleries in Tesuque 5 minutes north of the Santa Fe downtown square. I went to work building concrete molds and mixing cement. Some days I would have to wait for the sun to melt the frozen garden hose, and another day it even snowed. The project was completed on schedule, and I packed up my trailer and made the 2 day drive home. I heard that one of the couples that visited that week actually got married a few months later among my sculptures. The staff at Shidoni is like an extended family and I always look forward to another visit to either drop off a new wax sculpture or to pick up a completed bronze.
